RE: [Chrysler300] Cuban 56 300B:Export car options

Hi all,

Just as a side note, I'm not sure if this would be similar or mirror an
export 300B, but I have an export 300D destination was Guatemala.

"Different" or unusual options listed, courtesy of Gil, include......

Raven Black with 888 SO interior (red leather)
Code "99" special tires
359 crank case vent cleaner (export)
554 3:54 rear axle non suregrip
591 export tool kit
592 tubeless tire repair kit
594 locking gas cap

Also the car has the red export tag on the passenger side inner fender.

Best regards
Owen Grigg

Phil and All:
3N56 1597 was indeed originally exported to Havana, Cuba. It was formally
owned by a Club member, but apparently no longer. I do not know specifics
of
export cars, but this one was coded for a "tool kit" and dry charge
battery.
Also, export cars have a different code for the transmission. No idea why!

1597's color was special order code 499 which I interpret from Chrysler's
specs as two-toned with one color below the "contour molding" and one
above.
In this case one or both colors would have been special. Phil, that seems
to
more or less support what you have heard. Records indicate two paint code

499 300Bs went to Cuba. Never had heard the dictator (Batista, I think)
story
though.

Hello  300 Fans;

On E-bay was an unrestored 56 300B said to have been one of the export
models sent to Cuba. If memory serves me, 3 were ordered by the then
dictator for
his own and his cronies'
use. Special order paint code to have the black body, but regimental red
tops. They were export models, although I don't know what that entails in
changes - but I would like to!

Gil C. can you, or anyone, tell me what the export model modifications
were?

The car did not sell. I believe the seller's name was Al Ludwig, located
some where in the Binghamton, NY area. He is not in either club's
directory.
Anyone in centeral NYS know him, or willing to track him down ? I'd like
to,
at least, exchange more e-mail with him.

He was interested if the other VIN numbers on the Cuban cars was known.

Any help/info would be appreciated. If one of you find Mr. Ludwig, please
give him my e-mail and encourage him to contact me. Mine is
hmpirish@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Gloria, the VIN on that car was 3N561597.

Thanks, and All the Best 300ing! Phil Irish - in cool, Fall colored, west
