Re: [Chrysler300] Lyle Fisher, Tuscon Dragway - anyone know of him???

Karamesines is still around from what I hear, still in the same place on the south side of Chicago. I believe he's in the (phone) book. The ChiZler dragster is at Don Garlits museum in Ocala, Florida last I heard.

Sure.? Chris Karamesines? is known as The Golden Greek.? He was a major drag racer.? His dragsters were called The Chizler.? There is a controversy as to whether he or Don Garlits was the first to crack 200 mph in the quarter.? I saw him in an exhibition race at Oswego, Ill. in the early 60's after he went 200.? There was a little moisture on the track, so he only hit 180 when I saw him.? I think he's still around, altho in his late 70's.? He was still doing exhibition runs within the last several years.? You can probably get in touch with him.

Good day to everyone out there in 300 Land:

In doing some research on the history of my 300E, I came across a couple of

names. Has anyone ever heard of or know of Lyle Fisher owner or former

owner of Tuscon Dragway dating from the mid 1960s? Or maybe someone knows

of a Chris KARAMESINES (not sure of the spelling) from Chicago??? Any help

would be appreciated.

Apparently these gents originally owned my car (big red) when she was

built.
