Re: [Chrysler300] Reverse Gear Problem

Michael,
Put the car in drive first then reverse when starting it after it has been sitting. George McKovich passed this pearl of advice to me and it works great. Something pertaining to the fluid getting pumped up, etc. My C sat for 2.5 weeks and I started it this pm and put it in drive first then to reverse and it went in reverse nice and crisp.....and by the way had a most enjoyable air conditioned drive for 25 miles beating Mustangs all over town! 300'ly, ROB KERN

The last three times I've gotten my "F" out, the transmission is not going into Reverse gear -- until after the car has run for 2-3 minutes. Nothing happens when Reverse is selected -- no noise, nothing. Drive works normally.

After a couple of minutes, or more, if Reverse functions normally, and does for the rest of the day. It sits for a week or more between uses.

I've checked the fluid with it running and warmed up, seems to be right at the full mark. If it were a vacuum problem, it would affect Drive, I would think, and wouldn't go away after it has run for a few minutes.

Anyone else ever experienced this? Any suggestions/ideas as to what is causing this?
