RE: [Chrysler300] G brakes 'jerking' to right

A couple of things I'd check. If it's pulling to the right you're either getting too much drag on the right or too little on the left.

1) Make sure the right wheel cylinder isn't leaking, a contaminated pad will usually grab harder and can pulsate.

2) Check your suspension components to make sure it's not a case of a worn joint or bushing. This is where you generally get the shimmy symtom.

3) Check the brake lines for obstructions. Dirt or restrictions within the lines and even air in the lines, most likely on the left, can cause poor brake performance and will often manifest as a pulsing feeling. Usually this problem is with deterioration of the flexible brake hose. Replace them if you haven't done so recently. Flush the system and bleed all four corners.

4) I'm not familiar with the hub styles on the earlier cars but if there's a possibility the hub/drum may not be running true or if there's too much play in the hub, you could experience poor brake performance as you're describing.

 Good Luck.

Hello everyone in 300sville!

Has any G (or any 300 owner) ever experience your brakes not gently (more normal), but rather briskly pull to one side or the other!? I have properly adjusted the brakes and even put a 'scosh' of break fluid in the master cylinder (reservoir) and it still does it. Even after correct adjusting, when slowing down a grade a couple times from 65 to 30-35, there was even significant vibration and 'shimmering'. Can my steering linkage(s) be loose? Week return springs? Contamination on shoe/drum? Any suggestions much appreciated and I hope all is doing well! I'll see you all in Carmel!!

Sincerely & 300ly, Brandt H J w/ a G.
