Matt,
Be careful...read the manual first. I think you have to do something to prevent you from getting a bad shock...and it's just not removing the battery cable.

  This weekend I hope to have the time to replace the aged Electroluminescent 
  Power Pack on our '62.
  I know that the first thing I need to do is pull off the battery cables, then 
  remove the driver's kick panel and reach up high.
  Any other helpful hints in doing this job?
