Re: [Chrysler300] The 1962 Power Pack

After you remove the negative battery cable, find a terminal for one of your "dash lights" that is E.L. like maybe the one that plugs into the tach. Unplug it and ground the terminal. I think the wire is pink??? Take a jumper wire and touch the terminal to a good ground. A split second is all you need. Grounding it will discharge residual power stored in the power pack. Then you can reach up there and fight to find the two screws that hold the power pack in place without that unexpected jolt when you unplug the harness terminal.

Matt,
e careful...read the manual first. I think you have to do something to prevent
ou from getting a bad shock...and it's just not removing the battery cable.

Subject: [Chrysler300] The 1962 Power Pack

 Happy Saturday All,
This weekend I hope to have the time to replace the aged Electroluminescent
 Power Pack on our '62.
I know that the first thing I need to do is pull off the battery cables, then
remove the driver's kick panel and reach up high.
Any other helpful hints in doing this job?
 (Be flexible?)
 Thanks!
  Matt Allyn
