Re: [Chrysler300] CHRYSLER 300 CLUB NEWS & George Riehl

AS usual, well said!
He will always be in our minds, conversations and thoughts, at least by us longtime members.

My copy of the Spring 2012 Club News arrived today and I've just completed the read. I thought this issue was particularly a good read. Andy Mikonis' "In Memoriam" write up I think many of us who knew George would agree was precisely on the mark as to what George and Eleanor did and meant to this club.

I thought it only fitting that the 1970 Hurst issue timing came just after George's passing. It seemed appropriate that this is the last 300 that this club officially recognizes and so the curtain comes down on an era.

And finally the "What's Under Your Heads?" article composed by none other than our George was a great and informative read. The man knew much and was always willing to share it with all of us. Yes, there were times when he could be a pain with his opinions and stubbornness but when you asked of guidance George always came through. He ran the club on the straight and narrow and sometimes with an "Iron Fist" which ironically is the title of a book on Carl Kiekhaefer another name that is so associated with our Letter Cars.

George is gone now and we'll never hear those stories and the "so on and so fourth" again. I'll miss his friendship and all that he brought to the club and it's membership.
