[Chrysler300] Steering wheel color question -- 1957 300C

I am restoring my late father's 1957 Chrysler 300C (convertible) and am now
working on the steering wheel: the center spokes and the bottom black part
are in virtually perfect condition, but the light-colored upper part is
cracked in half a dozen places and discolored to a yucky pale yellow color.
I have contacted three steering wheel restoration specialists, all of whom
say they can't restore only the damaged upper half and want ~ $1,000 +
shipping to re-cast the entire wheel. Their work indeed looks gorgeous and
has been highly endorsed by other members, but I don't feel that over a
$grand is the best way to allocate my limited funds. Instead, I have
filled the cracks with J-B weld epoxy, and sanded back to the original
finger-groove contour. I plan to spray that upper half with a clear-coated
two-stage urethane, but am unsure of the color. Photos I have seen on the
internet suggest an ivory-beige tone, and I recall some previous
communication on this forum suggesting that the upper part color was
intended to match the Desert Beige color of the dashboard.

Can any members who have what they consider to be a excellently-restored (or
original!) wheel for a 300C please send me a photo or two of their steering
wheel?

Any suggestions would be most helpful!
