RE: [Chrysler300] Leaking Coolant in my H - Heater Control Valve Repair

Hi Jim,
I recommend Jim Tucker as listed below. He did the heater control valve on
our 1957 300C Sept 14,2009. Cost was $98.00 plus shipping of $7.50. This was
not the original valve that came with the car as I replaced the valve 33
years ago when they were still available from Chrysler.

See some of you tomorrow in Golden, CO.

Hello Jim;

Yes, the water valve. You can get new ones or repaired ones from

Jim Tucker, 29597 Paso Robles Rd., Valley Center, CA., 92082.
760-749-3488. Email: jthcv@xxxxxxxx 1949-1964 heater valve rebuilding,
1 year guarantee. http://www.heatercontrolvalve.com or Joe Hudacek, 6606
Banks Ave, Superior WI 54880-5721 (715) 392-6169.
www.heatervalves.net Heater valve rebuilding.
or
Restoration and Rebuilding Service, 504 Edmonds Ave. N.E., Renton,
Washington. 98058-3636. (425) 255-4852. A. Petrik. Heater valve rebuild
service. www.heatercontrolvalve.com

I have used Joe Hudacek in the past and was pleased.

It is a little bit of a chore to replace the heater valve as I think the
glove box has to come out to get to it.
Nothing big or heavy, just lots of things to poke you and hard to see, hard
to get at.
I did it a few years ago. I am sure I removed the passenger seat for access.

Also important to connect the heater hoses at the firewall right. It is in
the factory service manual. If you hook them backwards, the heater valve
goes closed the faster you go --- the water hits the valve and closes it
when routed wrong way.

Holler if you need more.
Bob
