Re: [Chrysler300] Gasoline overflow issue

I have had this problem with my 65 300 and other cars with low mounted or short fillers. I figured the tube would fill up too fast for the mechanism in the pump handle to react before the pump would shut off. It can't have anything to do with the age or condition of your tank. I've also had the opposite problem where the fuel doesn't flow well down the tube and activates the shut off prematurely, causing me to have to slow down the flow to fill the tank.

My 68 Charger never over flows with a long tube and the pit stop cap mounted high on the fender.

> Hi Keith...my 65 "L" and 64 Newport both do the same. The Newport has a new tank and the "L" tank is original. I have learned to listen to the flow of the gas and shut off the pump when I hear the gas reach the top of the tank. This has been happening for 20 years now. 300 regards...George Ver Berkmoes
