Re: [Chrysler300] 61 300G

I have Diamond Back DB2 radials 235/75/R15 with a 3" white wall, same size whitewall as original tires. If you want the original look of bias ply tires then they offer those too. If you plan on driving the car I would go with the radials, I am very pleased with mine. They usually have a holiday sale with $50 off each tire if you can wait till December

8.00-15 nominal diameter 29.3 to 29.7 inches (variability by brand back then).
I think Coker now has some 8.00R15 vintage looking whitewalls not sure sidewall width, but 1961 was last of the wide whitewalls and they had gotten progressively narrower by year til they went to narrow white in 1962. There may be some better experts here, but as first responder, I would guess about 3 inches - not much wider.
225/70R15 (nominally 27.4 inch OD) equated to G70-15 or in your vintage 7.10-15.
227/75R15 (28.3 OD) H78-15 or roughly 7.60-15; 235/70R15 (27.9 OD) H70-15 (same load as 225/75R15 or H78-15)
235/75R15 (28.9 OD) J78-15 or roughly 8.00-15 - still slightly smaller OD and radials even at higher pressure will have lower static loaded radius (shorter sidewall with more bulge at bottom).

Hi All,

Now that I've sold my 61 Corvette my 61 300G gets all the attention!

Questions

1. What width size whitewall did the 300G come with?  I'm planning on buying Coker radials, The stock size was 8.00 - 15.  Would that equate to 225 70R-15?

2. I also need to do the brakes from stem to stern.  I was going to use NAPA for most of the parts.  Comments?  Recommendations?  Has anyone used s/s brake lines from Good Brakes or Brake Hoses Unlimited on EBay?

Thanks,
Mike  300G Barn Find
