Re: [Chrysler300] POLISHED ALUMINUM CONSOLE PIECES

Had a similar problem with the console side pieces on my F.. Bob Hayen directed me to Mike At McNichols. Did a beautiful job at a reasonable price. Might work for these pieces as well. Look great with the inserts from Gary.

Gary’s Catalog   http://www.garygoers.com/            (Scroll down to links for the catalog and price list)  lists the Console inserts twice.  On page 4 as for ’60-’62 Letter Car without a part #--polished and anodized-$300.  And again, on Page 6 as for ’55-’56—pretty obviously a typo as the price is the same $300 for the complete set-F&R for the ’60-’62.  These are die-cut so will not fit ’63-’64 consoles.  Part #676.  As it appears the process for duplicating the inserts is known, another good project has identified itself.

If it’s the same stuff as used on the 300F, 300G and 300H on top of the consoles then Gary Goers had those in stock.

Dave mine were always too pitted to do anything with. I got thin aluminum flashing and "recovered" mine. Hope this helps. Mike Laiserin

Hello Group,

As a do it my selfer, I like to clean and re-assemble 300 parts.

Now I'm stumped, I have the two aluminum panels off the top and back of the K console.

000 Steel wool is not working to remove scratches.

Can this be fine sanded , and re-polished for a uniform appearance?

Sending it out for prof. buffing may damage the panels.

How about buffing wheels and compound?

Any one been does this avenue prior?

Thanks in advance,

Dave and Di
