Re: {Chrysler 300} Radios

I've had the Aurora conversions done on 2 radios now and I'm very happy with both. One was my '70 300 with the signal seeking function and that still works. I have that radio feeding a powered subwoofer and a 4 channel amplifier, both under the rear seat.

On my '65 Barracuda, I use just the radio with Custom Autosound dual coil speakers.

Both sound great, even to my abused hearing.

I tried a couple Retro-Sound speakers and they failed miserably.

I have no idea if your reverb would work, but really, I don't know as it's anything more than a novelty at this point.

I had Gary Tayman in Florida do my conversions and I couldn't be happier with them.

Hope this helps, John

Thanks Nick, I am aware of these. I was asking to see if someone else has already go down this path to and have a make-model that they know works.

Also, if anyone has had retrofit speakers installed, I would like to know what the back space issues are or are not. The double voice coil speakers have a rather large magnet in them, and I wonder if they will fit.

If you have a space issue for the power antenna, there is this model that has the motor separated from the antenna.

After discussing radios with my wife, remember daily driver and cross-country car, we decided to forgo rounding up an AM/FM with reverberator and instead have the AM radio gutted and the Aurora unit placed in it. We will also get two retro-sound two in one speakers and place one in the dash and one between the seats.

With all the bells and whistles, this will give is AM/FM and input for XM and Bluetooth. It will also take and make calls from a phone. It also will have HD radio.

I want to know if anyone has gone down this path with their 300?

Also, I plan on a fully retractable modern antenna and if anyone with a 1963 or 1964 has put one in the front fender, which did you use and how did it fit?

Thanks, James
