I need some help with finding an oil pan for my 64 Fury (440 4 spd). All the after market pans available (Milodon, Moroso) have at least a 7 in. sump. Too deep for street driven cars. The Mopar performance pans (street hemi) will not fit the early 62-65 B-body. The stock and replacement pans with 4 qt. sumps do not have enough oil capacity. I have seen too many engines damaged (spun bearings) because the oil sump was not big enough. For normal use these stock pans are okay. I like to drag race and if called upon to defend the honor of the machine I will put up instead of shut up. I saw an oil pan in the Feb. issue of Mopar Muscle (Delivering Displacement pg. 26) the pan is a Milodon wide sump pan part number 31580( the article has the numbers backward). I called Milodon and they said the pan should fit a 64 B-body, has a 5 1/2 inch sump and 7 qt. capacity. My question is has anyone tried to use this pan? Milodon calls it a circle track pan but I attempted to find some info on it but
nothing is mentioned not even the Milodon web site. Thanks for your help and time. Love those early B cars. Long live Max Wedges.
