When I worked as a heavy-line mechanic in the
dealerships many moons ago, I started using Craftsman
break-overs to take the pinion nut off. I broke quite
a few of them and finally moved on to a larger
Snap-On, which always did the job. You either need a
high quality 1/2 inch break-over or a 3/4 inch one to
do the job.
