Re: Poly oil pans



the problem is there's nothing left to tap, just a couple threads deep then very thin metal thats
just coming apart. I hope to make the 62 pan fit after all it was originally in the car but with the
62 Poly. interesting that the 64 pan has a larger bevel on one side and a V shaped indent on the
other side where the 62 pan has none? I guess to help clear the steering linkage. The 64 Poly pan is
off a Fury 4 dr. I'll be checking the fit and see what's up?

You could always tap out the drain plug and find a slightly larger short
bolt.

Are all Poly oil pans the same for passenger cars? Seems my 64 pan has
a dimple or bevel
on both sides and my 62 oil pan has the beval on one side, drivers
side? Want to use the 62
pan cause the 64 oil pan drain plug holes threads are all but a couple
threads left.
