 I do not use two gaskets. The thin aluminum doesnt leak . I use the normal gasket on the block , then the shield and bolt the b pump to that. the shield must shield the pump body from the block . if you would feel better a light smear of hi temp silcone on the ating surface would not go amiss but I avent had any leaks without it either. My car was almost undrivable in traffic during hot weather before installing this BTW.
