Re: washer bottles

on my 62 Dodge, the foot pedal gives you one squirt of water, or windshield washer fluid. and activates the wipers for as long as you hold the pedal down. I retired the Jiffy Jet bag along time ago. but it's nice having the floor switch to the wipers, for when it's barley raining. I think there's a diaphragm of some sort behind the foot pedal that gives you the one squirt for each pump and I guess a pressure switch is
there also to activate the wiper motor.

my 63 dodge has the plastic bottle. it was plumbed up to the foot switch near the brake pedal. when i bought the car it never worked. 10 years ago i pulled it all apart to do up the engine bay & didnt replumb it. now i want to get it going & cant remember how it was hooked up. is the foot switch a pump that you manualy pump to squirt the water? does it have a vacum hose attached to it? is it even compatable with the plastic bottle or should i hook an electric pump to it? any help greatly appreciated, thanks richard [oz]
