Re: oil pan fitment



The oil appears to be leaking out around that little metal tab that holds the valve cover gasket.

I think I did a good job pounding down the pan bolt hole areas - thanks for all the tips on that activity.

While I have it apart this time I'm going to replace the rear main seal too.

Hopefully I will be finished in time to drive it to the 'Nats.

Hi Brian,
It would have to be leaking from the valve cover above as the exhaust studs 
do not go into the oil galleys-they do however go into the cooling system on 
all of the exhaust studs on the big blocks and the two end exhaust studs on 
the small blocks.
