Re: Heater Hose Question

I am fairly sure that all models are plumbed the same, hose should come off
of the hose barb on the water pump go to the heater inlet which should be
the one with the control valve on it, and then return if they are reversed
the system will still work, and will not cause excessive heat in the
vehicle because when the valve is shut, water will not circulate through the
heater, only be a matter of osmosis which would act the same as a plugged
heater core and will not add much temp.

I can't speak to the 63, but the 64 service manual engine compartment
diagram shows which hoses go where. You have to examine the drawings, but once
done, it's clear. /Butch/Ferndale, WA

My thought is- the hot water feed hose from the engine (pressure side)
would go to the control valve side of the heater core. That would prevent
hot water from going thru the heater core during summer
months...................................MO
