I'm still working on one of these too, a '62 Plymouth, I will say that once you start getting into the two door parts and removing them (I removed plenty of extra figuring to trim later as needed) it will start becoming pretty obvious how to proceed.  The 2-door quarter filler or slug that goes in where the 4 door back door fits is actually held in the body shell across the top by sheet metal screws from the factory...
