RE: Flywheel

Mark, I would like a copy. This year at Carlisle, I got a very bad copy of the drill pattern from a gentamen that rebulded my 4 speed. Dave Johnson, from New York. He said he worked at New Process in the sixties and he knows alot about 64 and up trans's. As I'm thinking of putting a 73 400 with a stick into my car. I would like to compare hole patterns to see if there the same. If this info is in the old Direct Connection racing books, then I have it. But still send it to me. He told me you use the external balance harmonic balancer, with this drilled out flywheel. Is this correct?? Thanks John Wask...

> To convert a neutral flywheel for cast crank use, you have to drill a series of holes taking out 4.22oz for a 340, 12.9 for a 383/400/440 and 19.79 for a 360. 440 6bbl cars with the 'heavy' rods used 6.5oz(only in 1970-72). The Mopar Performance Engines book has the layout and sizes for the holes.
