Re: 426 SW

Went out to the cold ol garage and checked the engine. No it doesn't have the 1/2 pickup tube. The #'s/ letters stamped on the pad are V 42 top row and 1 2 HP on the bottom row. Don't know if they tell anything. Maybe someone on the line just screwed up. Anyway, it's going to make a nice replacement for the 383 in my 63 Polara this year or maybe next. Cant rush these things. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Stan Kafouse" <skafouse@xxxxxxxxx>

A MW bnlock will have a 1/2 inch pick up. They share the same casting number 2406730 on the side of the block. Does it have a 1/2 inch pick up?

I have a 426 SW that has the valve reliefs.
It's a 10/63 date block and
I knew the fellow that originaly owned the 64 Sport fury it
came in.
I had the joy of riding in the car when he first got
it. He and the car
are long gone now.

Thanks, Don. I think 426 MW has the reliefs too, from
what I've read - just
trying to verify, though. I would think folks who
sell the new repro heads
would know the answer. I'm a long way away from any
of this, but I find 1/2
the fun of our cars is thinking and dreaming about the path
out in front.
