Yes that was odd how they came in the later "fuselage style" B-bodies.
I am not quite sure what year that started, I am going to guess '72,
not sure the 71 chargers and roadrunners had the 340 option yet but in
72 and 73 you see them, although its kind of rare. I have only seen
one in real life, a guy here with a charger with 340 AND factory 4
speed.
   My very first motor I rebuilt was a 340 for my 71 cuda, way back in
1983. I bought the engine for 100 bucks from a guy that had it laying
in his front yard.
