A lot of pining will hurt the motor over time.  All motors ping from
time to time.  Even the new cars.  Some pinging won't hurt it at all.
If you can keep your foot out of it to minimise it it's better than
letting it ping all the time.  Chrysler's are pretty tough so it's
very unlikely that you will do any damage.  If it was an air cooled VW
you can ping them to death in a few hundred miles...they can't take
it...but they are tin covered, air cooled, little tiny things to start
with, not big ol' iron monsters like we drive.
