Re: Stalling

The last time I set mine. (AFB)

I set with vacuum guage.

Basically started at initial idle screw adjustment. Hooked the vacuum
guage to one of the ports on the base of the carb. Then started
adusting each side. Back the screw out a bit, and let vacuum catch
up. Eventually that side will stop increasing the vacuum. Then bring
it in about 1/16th of a turn at a time until vacuum starts to go
down. Once it goes down, turn it back to the last location before the
vacuum started to degrade. Then adjust the other side. Back to the
first side, and back to the second side. (to double-check).

Then give it a test drive. If not acceptable. Try again or fiddle
with the timing.

This combined with the advancing the timing, a degree or two either
way, until I have that dialed in with the carb.

What is your timing currently set at?

Vacuum Can on the distributor working? When you disconnect the vacuum
advance to time the engine, does the idle go down? (It should) If
not, could be a vacuum advance is needed.
