RE: Higher octane??

If you put on a shorter tire it will effectively give you a lower gear ratio. That or a higher stall converter

Hey Eric

There's just one problem.......I don't know what size my cam is.  I bought the 440 from an older guy who's wife needed cancer treatment.  And I can't for the life of me remember what size cam he said he put in it.  It does run good and doesn't miss a beat.  It's also got a nice rumpity rump to it.  I think it might have a one step above magnum cam.  My issue is off the line.  If  I was to race someone from let's say 15 mph, good night.  But off the line is kinda slugish.  And I don't really want to change my rear end.  323's are a nice cruising gear.  But I do want to grudge race my buddy in his 71 300 this coming summer.  My plans are to put on an aluminum intake this spring.  Any other thgoughts would be great.
