Re: Mopar Movies

And lets not forget NCIS. Fleets of 300's and later seasons Chargers. Of course Gibb's yellow R/T Challenger..NCIS LA uses the black Challenger which is the star of the show in my opinion. Its the only reason I watch the LA version.

Yup - Big Jim Dunn.  I think one of his cars was called Fireman Quickie.  He had one of the only successful rear engine funny cars back then.  He still owns a funny car team (he's in his 80s now).  His son Mike drove fuel dragsters and funny cars, too.  He's currently the analyst for the ESPN NHRA broadcasts.

Two Lane Blacktop is a good flick - even though it mostly features a '55 Chevy and a GTO (I think that Chevy was cool, though).  There are some Mopars in the beginning when they're street racing for cash.  I think one of Big Willie's Daytonas is in it briefly, too.

How about TV?  Adam-12, Mannix, Mod Squad, Brady Bunch, Beverly Hillbillies.  Julie was driving a '70 GTX on the Mod Squad in one episode.  Miss Jane had some nice Mopar convertables - I know one was a red '65 Coronet.

vanishing point (challenger), dirty mary crazy larry (charger)
unlawful entry ( charger), love and a .45 ( roadrunner) Taillights
fade (duster) The highwaymen (barracuda) Bullet(charger),  BTW if u
guys want to see a BAD car movie with lots of cool vintage race
footage, I saw one the other night called Burnout. It was pretty bad
but the 90 minutes of vintage drag footage from the early 70s  was
well worth it. Lots of cameos by figures from the day, like Tony
Nancy, Art Arfons, and more. Also another vintage footage movie well
worth it is "Funny car summer", which is a documentary following
around that guy from the early 70s with the sidewinder Barracuda funny
car. Cant remember his name right now, his nickname was the Fireman. I
think his named might have been Dunn. Dunn and Reath??? Does that
sound right?
