Valvoline racing oil has the Zinc and Phosphate these engines require. I have ran this oil exclusively for years. This is all you need for break in and general/hi performance use. No additves needed.   This oil will also pick up some oil pressure.

Never use synthetic oil for a flat tappet engine break-in; too slippery and rings will not seat...among other problems.  Always use the common grades of oil, ie 30wt or 10-30w..., with your Zinc/ZDDP additive.

while on the oil subject,whats a good break in oil for a newly rebuilt poly with hp cam and stuff. how about amsoil 30w break in with zink?
