Re: " BRUTUS" 1964 Dodge project

Herb, Ollie, --I did use a tow bar  like that on my 57 chebbie wagon--toewd 150 miles one way! I did think about using a 7" hi-low beam headlight.  the airplane landing lights would really put out the light!  I do have an FM converter planned to use.  I remember the clothespins and coffee can cool cans, but with fresh air, I shouldn't have a problem.. The bleach set up would be cool.  Gary H --the curb feelers were thrown under the bench with the coon tails !

I will be using a reproduction Sun tach, aftermarket three spoke and black steering wheel,  correct a833 four speed with the correct Hurst shifter. 5 spoke Fenton "mags". A Stewert-Warner electric fuel pump( if I can find one) Pie crust cheater slicks. Maybe some red under dash sex lights??....................................MO

Don't forget tow bar brackets on the front.  And a Race Car in Tow sign laying on the package tray.  Air Plane Landing lights for high beams if you change ram air routing.  And of course a reverb, 8 track & FM converter.  Don't forget wood clothespins on fuel line for vapor lock and an inline cool can from a coffee can.  White wall cheater slicks. We also ran a hose from a washer bottle to both back tires with bleach to clean your tires before a street race.

Great Looking Hood I like the lettering. Will you have the cross ram 413 manifold? Good luck and send more pictures when you progress.

Hi all,
I thought some of you would like to see what I'm doing on the Dodge.  It is back in the paint shop and the top has been painted. The painter's daughter has had a brain tumor removed and it is malignant. Several weeks of chemo and therapy. His wife passed from the same thing just about one year ago. I am not bothering him--he needs no more pressure.  The rest of the body is in final sanding and won't be long till it is painted.
The hood is done and waiting here at home to be put on. Now remember, my theme is" how I would have built it in the Mid 60's" Those hood scoops were very popular on all kinds of cars.  It will have ram air induction from the inner head-lights
Around here back at the time, very few engines were built up. Except for the racers. To get a high performance car, we bought Highway Patrol cars  that were being replaced, at auction. Or go to a salvage yard and buy a H.P.engine to put in our cars. Thats probably what I would have done , put in a salvage patrol car engine. (413  police pursuit) Headers were fairly new and expensive. I would use the exhaust manifolds from the engine.
There will be several other goodies that was era correct for street and strip.  Anyone have ideas used in the day? NO not coon tails!.............................MO
