Re: electronic distributor.

I have a "junk yard" Mopar conversion electronic ignition on my 63.  It's actually a 440 dizzy with the adapter on a 383, wiring harness from something I can't even remember, an old orange box I had from 20 years ago hidden under the horns.  A friend with a dizzy machine re-curved it and it's set for total advance. I might have 50 bucks in the system.   What a difference !!  Starts great, performance is better, and still looks original (which isn't really a big point with me, 'cause nothings original in this car anyway).   Only Pertronix unit I have any experience with was on an old Massey tractor I had, and that worked great too.  All I can say is I am a fan of electronic ignition over points/condenser.

Hey guys,

I have a question. I have been wanting to convert my poly 318 to electronic ignition. All the listing I find are for the LA engines. So my question is will the kits advertised for the LA engines work on the Poly's ? I'm just not sure if the distributors are the same on both engines.
