Re: trans tech help

Jimmy,

The pushbutton cable adapter (attached to rooster comb with a nut) and rooster comb are not compatible with the 65 console shift setup.
The 65 console shift cable adapter (attached to rooster comb with a c-cilp) and rooster comb are not compatible with the push button shift setup. They are too long? or short? for each other.

You can absolutely swap the 62 adapter & comb onto a 65 trans...if you are using the 65 trans in a 62 car. Just need to drop the valve body to swap the rooster comb.

I did the opposite...installed my 65 cable shift adapter & rooster comb into an earlier trans. It was actually pretty easy.

Just to re-cap to be perfectly clear...62-64 & 65 cable adapters & rooster combs MUST be used with their own system...however, the cable adapter & rooster comb combo can be swapped into another trans...ie what I described above for my car)

Clear as mud now?

2 The 65 doesn't have one, but I don't see why you can't remove the
comb  from the 62 an put on the 65 trans?
3 Why?
