Cory Rempel <Cory_383@xxxxxxxxxxx>: Jan 31 02:00PM

Hey guys, here's a question I don't remember being asked here. Can you rebuild an alternator to put out more amperage? Reason for me asking is that I might have to get an electric pusher fan for my ...more

Hello,

Yes, there are kits to increase the amperage of your alternator and there
are larger alternators that range for moderate to expensive in price.

However more important I would look at ...more

Also Denis, do you have a lead on where to get these kits? Thanks.

Just a couple of thoughts:

Does it overheat at highway speed? If it does in my experience the pusher
fan will not work and you have another problem.

If your car does cool down at reasonable speeds such as over 45, probably
less, then you have an airflow issue. A shroud will be your best friend.

george smith <bt6t4@xxxxxxxxx>: Jan 31 06:23PM

I had a pusher fan on for while. The plastic tabs that go throuh the rad to hold it on eventually wore holes in the rad and I had leaks. Didn't help much in cooling either.
