I see now the question is more about converting from ball & trunnion.  > I would like to change the flange to a slip yoke on my 64 4 speed 833

 

Most def the new drive shaft would be the easiest way to do it – they are very familiar with the conversion - ship fast and do great work.  Price was far less than the local driveshaft which didn’t have the needed parts in stock anyway.  I see on my receipt it shipped 12/23/13 – so it was even during this time of year that I ordered it.

 

Attached my work sheet for ref.  Jeff your car will of course need to be measured.

Nick that looks great but where is the splines  to take up the up and down movement of the rear axle.  You bolt hard to the trans and to the rear universal joint. there is no movement allowed. Am I missing something

Another option is just change the driveshaft. Driveshaft Specialists do Ball & Trunion conversions for A833 & A727 all the time. They did one for me and several for friends check it out. My conversion is a standard 4" shaft, Spicer Flange/U-joint, Slip Yoke rear with U-joints to remove vibration and movement from tailshafts, rated @ 600 hp.
