I also use a short length filter, as I have a A/C radiator from a small block, for my 361, this puts the bottom hoes enough inward that i can't use the correct size filter. I believe I use motorcraft, as they are white, and I paint the blue and red strips, to somewhat simulate original. I can get the part number when I get home later.

I'm collecting supplies to start winterizing the Fury. So I go to AutoZone for oil and filter. The Fury has a 383 with P/S and A/C and an aftermarket radiator with electric fans, so oil filter room is tight.

Several years ago, I switched from a Fram PH8A, to a Fram PH 43 which is shorter and that helps. So I can't find it at AutoZone and I ask the sales clerk, and he says try a Fram PH16 which he stocks. It is smaller even than the PH 43. Inlet thread and gasket all look same.

Does anyone have any experience with that filter? I don't intend to start a debate over brand, just asking about experience of others.
