Hello, Lee!

You gottum 1957 Royal 2-dr hardtop in all-white, with the standard 245 HP 325 c.i. Poly head V/8, with a 2-bbl carb and
single exhaust pipe.

It does have the red and black upholstery scheme, so the car should look fairly flashy car.

It was built o.o.a. 6/7/57, and it was delivered to its selling dealership via Truck.

It probably has other neat options and equipment, but they would only be revealed on the car's Broadcast Sheet
(which may still be masking-taped to the rear of the glovebox) and/or to the factory's IBM Build Card copy (which
you can buy , as discussed/shown on the 'Sticky' at the top of this message board.

It's got tinted glass (all windows, right?) and a tinted/shaded windshield, and 2-tone steering wheel, stone shields, and spinner hubcaps.

You should post some pics of your car onto the Member's Rides board, on this site.

Welcome!

Lee; please confirm or advise differently, if your car has a tinted/shaded windshield, but , also, tinted side and back glass.

thanks!

d500nell,, as soon as the deal is done and the car is delivered I will. All I have is pics of car right now and it has about 1 inch of dirt on it. Since posting this question the sellers are now trying to get more money from me and I think Im all in if you know what I mean.

Now that it's a no-deal, Lee, what were you offering and what were they demanding, on this car?

Just as in buying a horse, the cheapest part of ownership is the PURCHASE price.

Hold Tight, It may make LESS than what you Offered,, If so you will have some Bargaining Power and may buy it for less money due to being messed around IF they want the dodge cleared quickly..

...Right, I was going to say that, in all negotiations: he-who-wants-"it"-MORE : loses; in the sense that if you want
and can afford to buy (the car) more than they want to sell it, you will go up in your offer. If they want to sell the car
worse than you want to buy it, they will come down in their demand price.

I really don't need the car, I just thought it would be a cool car to save from rotting away.
I was going to go back all stock except exhaust and wheel's/tires and drive it.
I was told they wanted 500 or 1000 for it. I knew it was a deal for what I was looking to do to one so I said I would give them the thousand, then things went this way and they said they would like to get 4500 now.
So they e bayed it and I will wait to see where it goes. I think a 1000 is low but I got at least 1500 in shipping and that was what they asked for. I would have came off more money but after the 4500 remark I decided it was more the principle for me now and now Im watching it on eBay lol.

Yeah, well, the seller kind blew-me-off, when I asked him to look for the B-Sheet's existence, so, who knows about
this deal; the car AIN'T worth $4.5K, as-is, except as maybe parts, to restore a convertible, or sum-such.

I'm going to try and go see the car. I'm mildly interested and it is local to me. Any special requests for me to look for?

Yeah, casually reach up/behind the glove box, and 'feel' around for that B-Sheet!

ALSO: check out the condition of the OEM rubber floor mats; they ARE valuable, and very difficult to find.

Make sure that the W/S is intact and that there isn't a lot of edge delamination, where yellow-aging marks may appear, around
its periphery, from air getting into the safety glass.

Look for actual chromed pot metal pitting, as opposed to mere dirt-stainage.

From your avatar, this info looks to be not needed.

I'll give them a call tomorrow to try and see the car. For those wondering from the pictures if the car is rusty or dirty or both. I can tell you it's probably dirt, rust and lichens. Yep, lichens. No kidding if you leave a car laying around here long enough they get covered in yellow-orange lichens. I've got a 57 DeSoto and a 58 Imperial that came with the same South Texas Patina. They sand off pretty easy!

Jake, I don't know if anyone has eye balled this car, but, from simply looking at the photos, if you have the time, expertise/knowledge, location, and money, this car would make a very attractive finished-restoration, what with its relatively rare all-white exterior, and red interior Royal 2-dr hardtop.

Except for wholesale sheetmetal replacement, virtually all aspects of the car's mechanical and appearance items will need to be overhauled or replaced.

What worries me is body and frame rust. I'd hate to get the car to houston to find it's rusted away underneath or that under all that dirt on the body theres nothing left and I know how prone these cars are to rust.

Jake, body and frame rust (not just the simple surface kind) will not occur without the flimsy body panels also rusting-
out, in the usual areas: above/around headlights, lower fenders, rockers, and quarter panels--and, around the back window.

This car looks to be very sound; just suffering from a lot of wear and tear/neglect deterioration.

Even if the car sat in salty mud for years, the lower sheetmetal would show rust-damage, too, as well as undercarriage rot.

Jake: go check-out that new posting, on the Craigslist board, for that 57 Dodge Survivor! That car's
rust-out would be considered as being only 'moderate'.
