Back in Sweden after a delightful time in the United States.

Fridberg says that he has been more than busy in the shop.
Unfortunately, the car owners would not like to have publicity, which means that
I do not put out any pictures from there right now.
Instead, I put up some pictures from the US.
You may put up with that all is not Forward Look ...
Today's pictures are from California. There we found more project cars
than we could count. One question that you raised earlier on this forum
is who will rescue all project cars and renovate them?
The interest in the United States appears to be not big enough!

Leaving home!

Kochs Steering Wheel resto shop

In the countryside!

For some reason we found lots of classic Fords that needed attention.
Below is one of many that we came across during our trip

Art

We also saw many fine car collections

And of course sign collections!

More Art!

And even more!

Sometimes art becomes more modern, what a dream for fans of the seventies!

Older dream ... What a beauty!

We found many cars that longed for nursing care!
Here a 88 that someone should save. Untouched, everything is there ...
Send me a PM if interested.

More Fords, Ready for surgery! The Sunliner should be saved!

Lasse found a Merc!

And a real ride, a 59 in need of love, but not for sale...

They are still out there !

A place with aura is Palm Springs. On this spot was formerly the famed Racquet Club!
Imagine what cars have been parked here!

More Fords crossing our way!

55 Glastop needing an enthusiast!

More cars longing for new owners!

A sad 59!

If you need a 59 Plymouth or any other classic , feel free to call 760-567-8194!

The last picture for today, taken with the cell phone!
Looks like a postcard from the past!

Enjoy!

From California to the friendly and warm AZ!

Today I start by showing some pictures from the RM / Sotheby's, auction on Bitmore in Scottsdale.
This is the highlight of our trip for me as cargeek. Here are the cars that you can only dream about, Unbelievable!

Also some pictures from the annual visit at Donald Petty.
Don is a hard working gentleman with both the car collection and yard filled with Mopar gold.
A must is to visit him to buy parts or watch his collection!

Lollo Ekberg with 1971 Miura, a very nice candidate for resto...The hammer fell on $2.000.000!

Chassis no. 10. From the golden year 1965. Shelby 427 Competition with documented history.  Wonderful  $2.255.000.

Mighty  1928 Bugatti from one era that no longer exists.

Eyecandy!

Early sixties design, 1962 Maserati coupe. $ 1.540.000.

1973 Dino!

Here comes the king of the auction! Check out the lines!
Breathtaking engineering from 1937!

Mercedes 540 K Roadster was the name. Went for $9.900.000. I keep on dreaming!

Lasse Strandheim with 1953 Cadillac Coupe by Ghia. Interesting piece of design. The hammer was heard at $ 1.430.000.

The final image from RM shows my personal favorite. Lamborghini Miura from 1971. A Masterpiece. Enjoy!

Mr Donald Petty is a hard working Mopar collector with many years in the hobby.
What he does not know about our cars are not worth knowing!

Don is the owner of an amazing car collection, (previously shown in the thread)

But he is above all a great storyteller....

With amazing stories...

About memories and exciting cars of yesterday!

Since many years, Don operates a great "junk" yard. The first thing you notice is the good order!

Here are the most parts to our cars

Some, of course, faded by time.

Hernando watches...

Over a lonely Adventurer..

Not just parts. Several cars are for sale!

Lollo & Lelle in exciting discussion!

Mikael & Lasse make discoveries!

We say thanks to Donald for a pleasant afternoon and recommend him regarding parts for your old Mopar!

Great story and photos. Especially this one. Who wouldn't want to be able to go out in their shop and see something like this every day.

Thanks for your comments James & Steve!

My opinion is that the big money is in the U.S, however, the interest in old Forward Look cars is very big in Scandinavia!
This year several cars from Sweden was sold during auction week in Scottsdale.
The U.S.Dollar exchange rate now for Swedes makes it profitable to sell, but it's a pain to buy...

Today's photos are taken at Barrett Jackson in Scottsdale where the big boys shopping.
Three very nice Adventurers went under the hammer but unfortunately none of them went to our side of the pond.
A clear sign of where the money is!

This year's edition was entertaining as usual, I let the pictures speak for themself!

Enjoy!

Fantastic great photos and fun with text to all of them. Make the trip even more intresant. Palm Springs, among other things should I visit in the summer (not been there before). He may have changed his mind about 59 conv.

More pictures from the auction week in AZ!

But first beautiful scenery, this is Fountain Hills.

Then back to cars!
A short distance away from Scottsdale, at Fort MC Dowell, we find Silver auctions.
Here the atmosphere is relaxed and there are cars for every wallet.

This year several pickups were offered for sale!

Some restored and others in naughty condition!

The finish is always important, no matter!

Hot Rod in the Desert Oasis!

Back in Scottsdale, Russo and Steele also offers lots of nice cars!

And good action in the sales tent!

Suspect that this Dodge would suit many fans of this site!

More pictures will come another day, Next up is from the great show at Indian Bend Road.

Enjoy!

Indian Bend Road always offers a delightful mix of nice cars. Wonderful to walk around in the sunshine,
look at
the cars and meet the owners who often have a lot to show and tell.
Here is a small selection of all the beauty that was on display.

Down the road from Scottsdale, in Phoenix, we find Arizona Classic / Copper State Classic Cars.

http://www.arizona-classic.com/

Well worth a visit for us who are interested in Exner cars!

Driving in AZ is always nice, especially when you know there is snow and cold at home in Sweden!

Arriving at Bo we are met by classics for sale!

And of course, candy everywhere!

The workshop is full of interesting vehicles in various stages of restoration

Here is one such example! Cool ride!

I can admit that my heart was pounding extra fast when I found this car in the backyard.

Perhaps it is possible to save it...

Or maybe not....

We say thanks to Bo & Sarah for the visit and head off towards on our next adventure...

Many nice car enthusiasts live in the Phoenix area.
Here is one of them, Steve, who gladly showed his collection to us.
He is, however, no moparman so I won´t show the pics from his shop

Instead, I choose to to show you a gas pump from Steve's backyard. Beautiful!

The Phoenix area also offers several interesting junkyards!

But above all, there are several exciting roads leading out into the wilderness..
Picture taken with the phone through the windshield.

We could of course not resist driving a little on Route 66...

The abandoned America!

Alone, worn and neglected....

Got the feeling that black and white photography would be suitable here so I changed mode on my camera.

The photos were taken at the Hackberry General Store, a nice tourist trap on 66.

Hackberry located near Kingman, died when the new road was built many years ago.

Time has stopped...

And Henry's car as well.

This picture speaks for itself!

The last black and white image from this chilly pitstop a winterday at Hackberry, It was actually snowing further up the road...

Now we heading to Vegas...

Enjoy!

Thanks for the great pictures. Now I wonder what the big mistake is!
There is a working gas station in King's Canyon, CA, up in the mountains with an even older pump. We purchased fuel there last summer during our camping trip. It's even full service!

Las Vegas Strip, Scenic Route!

Legendary "Bugsy" Siegel where one driving force behind the Strip in the forties

I wonder what he would think about it today?
However
there is much to discover!

Good drinks, for example...

And of course, the lovely ladies...

Fun evening activities in all its glory,
but the real Las Vegas we will find beyond the Strip...

Fremont street dates back to 1905.

Here are all the classic casinos known from movies and television shows.

As you can see, much is today changed mainly because of the roof...

But Vegas Vic is of course in place even if the Pioneer Club is long gone...
Vic is an icon for us who live outside the US!

Sassy Sally is also in place and keeps a watchful eye over Fremont.
But I still find it hard to appreciate the "roof".

Here is a true classic, the Golden Gate opened in 1906.
The neon sign is incredible!

Fremont East is a newer concept, even if it contains El Cortez built in 1941, still in its original architecture.

Naturally, there is much to look at in Vegas..

Overrated tourist traps as pawn stars, known from history channel...

As Ricks resto and Counts kustoms ..
Both spinoffs of Pawnstars popular reality TV series.

Vegas is simply the world champion in entertainment!
I let this melting facade finish for tonight ...

One of the better and more reputable tourist destinations
in Vegas that I can really recommend is The Neon Boneyard.
A lot of history and nostalgia!
I let the images from there to speak for itself

Thanks Tom and the rest of you!

Outside Barstow we found this nice original roadside diner. Journey's tastiest burgers!

Another interesting area is Golden State Highway!
Here is a picture of Lasse visiting Wells Fine Cars in Selma.
Abandoned America!

Golden State Highway also led us to this treasure chamber....

Speaking of treasures, in the Sonora / Yosemite area you can experience the Gold Rush history.

Jamestown is a step back in time!

You just waiting for Clint to show up on his horse

The real America! As we Swedes see it...

Back to the hobby again, Here a picture from Verne's in Gardena, CA, they performing
first class chrome work! Nice guys.

One day I came out of the closet....

Last picture from our trip will show what suddenly happened.

Yes, I bought my first Chevy!

Hope I can continue on this forum despite my confession!

Thanks for the great pics and high resolution from your camera Magnus !

That's a Black 58 Desoto Fireflite sitting next to the 59 Dodge in that boneyard . Only spotted it after seeing the aluminium top Door frames , then I saw the upswept rear quarter panel moulding ! Did you happen to get a picture that by chance Magnus ?

An update from Fridbergs's shop: A former pacecar used in horseracing is given new life, the frame to the Imperial is almost done and
the New Yorker purchased from Andy Burrows here on the FL forum is now in service. Great car!
Finally the 300F is almost ready for a test drive ...

My car has a tag from another car, so I have the added problem of supplying the right information for a correct tag to be reproduced. Can anyone guide me on how to obtain the right info for a new tag? Can Back East help

Steve.

Time flies when you're having fun. It was intended that the 300F, which this thread is about, would appear on the Power Big Meet,
but it was not enough time to get all the details right.
Instead, friend Zacke showed his Kryptonite who received the prize for best hotrod!
The premier of 300F may occur in Finland later this fall! We'll see

300 F test drive!

Kryptonite on Power Big Meet in Västerås 2016

Nice guys!

As usual, a large audience at Power Big Meet....

That really appreciated this creation!

Read more about it in Gasoline Magazine!

Thanks for the pics. Is that first one a picture of a potty break? Not something I would think to take a picture of.
It'll be neat to see that '61 Elco-yorker get restored.
The '58 New Yorker convertible looks a lot like Gary's in S. California. Is it the same car or a different one?
I don't know why, but I really like the '51 Chrysler. It is really starting to grow on me.

That would be really lame for the show to be cancelled.

DO you have any more pics of that car by chance ? Also why may it be the last Big power meet ? Has something gone wrong . How many cars attended this year ? Break the record ?

Time flies! Sorry for late response.

Nathan:  I´m sorry but I have no information about where the green 58 New Yorker came from.
Maybes someone on this site can tell?

James:  This years Power Big Meet was great as usual. I would be surprised if not all previous records were broken by a wide margin!
You can read more in the Scandinavian section if it becomes more PBMs in the future or not. Expect that we will hear more about this later on.
Finally the DeSoto looks sharp in yellow! Go for it!

Upcoming event over here are Classic Car Week in Rättvik!
Perhaps Sweden's best car meet.
Today's picture shows how Fridberg trying to do wonders with its old Imperial.
Clearly, he is much more successful with his welding.
Monday is Mopar at the strip and on Tuesday we have F-L meet in Rättvik, no wonder that Fridberg rubs his Imp!
See You!

@ Magnus
I could not attend to Rättvik this year....
I have never hear about a happening on Tuesday for F-L-meet in Rättvik in the past
Is this something new, is it part of CCW or is it organized by someone else?

@ James, I have taken some pictures of this 58 DS

@ Nathan, I think the owner of this particular 58 NY conv is member of WPC sweden (because this car was during the whole show on clubstand), you have to ask someone from this club.

That New Yorker was on eBay in 2013, it's not Gary's.

@Tom it's a new meet and it's not organisera. We'll just meet att Rättviksparken and take a drive around together. Perhaps this will be repeated every years. ...

I had the privilege to enjoy the 59 Dodge during Classic Car Week. Better holiday is difficult to have ...
Know that you have seen it before but I show you some fresh pics anyway. It's sweet as candy!

I also post a few pictures of some of the great Forward Look cars that were present during the week.

You'll find more pictures from CCW in the Scandinavian Section!
