It's a funeral home flower car. This one has been around for years.

Yeah the tailgate hinges look too fancy to be just a "ute"(Australian term)

Pity he couldn't put a price on his ad unless he's just fishing to see what is offered.

"I would hate to hit something, you head would snap back and your skull would smash through the back window."

You mean like every other pickup truck built before extended cabs became popular???

To each their own, but I think the "sedan version" is ugly as, and obviously butchered, where as the flower car looks much more aesthetically pleasing

True the sloped back window looks a bit odd and wastes space for looks

Creating a short roof for a ute and keep it proportionately balanced is
a tall order. Some are better than others. The chopped off sedan roof
just looks like some hack's backyard botch job. Used to see it a lot on
old beaters .... some hillbilly would hack up a car to make a pick up with
no regard to looks. Often involved plywood.

Never have understood why a customizer can't break his head away
from using the old roof, instead fabricating a wholly new shape and roof
that "works" with the rest of the car's design. Nothing a creative fab guy
with an English wheel and some good metal tools could not do.

If only Chrysler had marketed similar to the original post car here in Australia. I would probably own one.
Best custom Late 50's Mopar Ute/pickup conversion I have seen yet.
I am trying to work out the doors, so they are 2drht doors? What about the wind up windows, what do you think they are, 4 drht back door windows?

Imagine if they did it, and offered it to the Aussie buyers with the D500 option. Now that would be something.............

I recon they would have sold like hot scones with jam and black tea!!

Steve.

This thread really requires a picture of the rear roof so it can be referenced in the future.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ute_(vehicle)

Don't know why it keeps copy and pasting with it not making the "(vehicle)" word apart of the link and not making it red.

Looks to be using different rear axle? No shaft nuts and looks to be link bars at front of rear wheels?

Overall, I like it. I'd lose the Firesweep nose and make it a straight Dodge,
put some super stiff springs under it, and use it as a real truck.
