Re: IML: '56 imperial convertibles

Dear Chris,

The gorgeous green KTK personal Imperial convertible is actually a 1955 Imperial with 130-inch WB but with certain unique features

The Paul C. Smith (gift from KTK) car is a 126-inch WB modified 1956 New Yorker with front end, rear end, side trim added or modified to produce an Imperial.

I discuss the quite incredible and o so beautiful 1955 car, owned by Chip Loree, in the August 2002 issue of WPC NEWS.

Best wishes,

David

Dr. Briant,

Is this a car other than the Mr. Keller's own green '56 convertible? (If
it's the same car, what might have happened to it recently? I have seen it
several times in the last few years and it had been restored to Pebble Beach
quality.)

Thanks,

I received a confirming telephone call from John Hart Weaver, owner since
1972 of the 1956 convertible gifted to Paul C. Smith (Collier's Magazine CEO
at the time) by Mr. Keller. His message included the happy fact that his
car will be on the field at Johnny Carson Park, Burbank next Saturday.
Though not in show condition at this time, the actual machine should be
quite informative.
