Re: IML: '56 imperial convertibles

It is hard to say if the factory actually built them.

A similar crop of 1956 300 convertibles also were known to exist. They were ALL specially made by a dealer in Forida when they were new. The way that they were done, a pair of cars, '56 Windsor Convertible, and a 300 Coupe, were ordered. The Coupe was used to create the 300 Convertible, and mercifully, the coupes were actually turned into Windsors and sold as such. Maybe the Chrysler 300 Club would know if any of these exist. I knew of one.

It could be possible that Imperial Convertibles could me made in a similar way, but would be much more difficult if they wanted to capture the longer wheel base (133inches). I heard of a 1956 Four Door Convertible that had been built as an experiment. I think that I read that it had been destroyed.
