IML: 1958 temp gauge removal

Hello Group,

I am attempting to replace the temperature gauge in my '58 Crown and cannot decide the best way to go about it. It is almost impossible to reach from the back nor can I see any way to pull the entire cluster forward. I considered removing the dash but that looks hard as well. Has anyone performed this job who can email me off-list with how he did it? I would like to go the easiest route for my back and without tearing up more than I have to. Any suggestions would be most appreciated.
