Re: IML: question about 60 Flitesweep

I would leave this alone unless absolutely necessary. The studs are extremely fragile & when you go to reinstall, you may break one or more of them. All that may be holding everything together is the sealer that is already there.

Clay,
Bright and shiny like the bumpers.  It's pretty easy to remove from inside the trunk.  I believe there are 5 studs with nuts and rubber grommets/washers.  Just be careful not to break the studs off.  I also have a 60 and I removed the reflector without any problems in February.  The studs are fairly stout...but they are potmetal.

Thank you Tom

My reflector/disc is original and for lack of a better description is the color and finish of satin aluminum.
By polished chrome finish do you mean chrome finish like the bumpers on the car?
Do these reflectors remove easily or is this a removal that usually ends up breaking something else in the process?
Thanks
Clay

Clay,
I just had my flitesweep medallion off and the disc/reflector/whatever you want to call it is potmetal.  It has a polished chrome finish on it.  You can't see the grooved part when it is installed on the trunk.
