Re: IML: Carter AFB-64 LeBaron

A properly tuned Edelbrock 1406 is sufficient for your 413.  While rated at 650 cfm, this carb will serve you well unless you like to open up the secondaries wide.  I had one on my 383, significantly the same engine as yours, and it was perfect for around town and spirited freeway driving.

One thing to be aware of -- modern carbs do not necessarily have the same throat opening even though they interchange perfectly at the manifold.  Please check your air cleaner base against the carb throat opening before committing unless you also want to commit to changing your air cleaner.

You may be forced to change the air cleaner if the carb you buy is significantly taller than the one on there now.  Check height before buying.

Last but not least, I do not know if your fuel delivery system is modified, so I can only suggest making sure your existing gas supply line is compatible with the carb's inlet.

Happy motoring,
