Re: IML: Rear Axle Bearings

Rear axle bearings, usually make "noise" all the time, while under load, coast, or slowing. I believe the description of the noise made, could be changed by the throttle/ engine load. If thats the case, then ring and pinion, is the most suspect.Certainly pinion bearings, carrier bearings, and wheel bearings,  could be damaged. But if the sound can change under different loads, my money is on set-up, and possible loose pinion nut.No one knows what was done, or how much damage was repaired, but the fact that the rear-end has been serviced, leads me to believe it was not done RIGHT, and that components that should have been replaced were not.Ya'll have a nice day, Dave.
