I have done without a lot
of other things that some people consider necessary to their lives in order to
own Imperials, and though I'm not really a mechanic, I've become a pretty fair
"shade-tree" mechanic to my Imperials, just by crawling under the cars and
DOING things that would otherwise cost a lot.
The pleasure I get just
by driving my cars is worth more to me than a lot of other stuff I could have
had.
To paraphrase the
immortal words of Tevye, "If Imperial-ownership is a disease, May God smite me
with it, and may I never recover!"

Well...my diamond ring never leaked transmission fluid and the fur coat
never failed to start. However, it would be a lot easier crawling
underneath that ring on my back! And checking the fluid level on the fur
coat master cylinder is a lot easier to reach.
