Re: IML: seat belt question

I can answer only a partial to the seat belt question. The state of California says that if a vehicle was manufacured without seat belts, then it is not mandatory to install them. Now, I do not know that with that, do I have to have something for a child? I do not know. Joe Machado

Subject: IML: seat belt question

I have a question regarding seat belt laws and young children riding in our Imperial. If we are using our Imperial for parades and car club events, etc., are we required to abide by State seat belt laws and car seat laws (specifically Montana)? I am restoring a ’62 and of course it only has the lap belts. Does anyone have that information off the top of their head? I may need to contact a government office?
