Re: IML: Headers for my '81 Imperial???

Abe, the headers should not be a problem. The same headers fit the Volare and Aspen, some are not for power steering, so be careful. There are also some other factors to be aware of as well. The Imperial trans had a lock-up converter, and fairly light duty trans. Torque converter choices, are slim, to none. The trans of choice would be an A-999, or A-727 torque flite. And if memory serves me, the standard 8-1/4 rear end with 2.24-2.45 ratio, will not accept better gear ratios, without an axle change out. Just some more to think about. Ya'll have a nice day, Dave.

Hello Everyone!

I am currently having my '81 Imperial's OEM 318 engine (and tranny) replaced
with a new Mopar crate engine (Blueprint 408 - BPC4080CTC) - ordered from
Summit Racing (http://www.summitracing.com/). The work is being done by
master mechanic Nick Losurdo of Classic Concepts in West Babylon, LI, NY.
Anyone have experience(s) with Blueprint engines, Summit Racing, or Classic Concepts?

Also...
We are not sure what headers will bolt right in! We'd rather not figure it out
via trial-and-error. I see someone on eBay is selling "Hedman Painted Header
1981 Chrysler Imperial 78050" (eBay Item #8070019208)...would these work?
They seem to have a rather peculiar configuration!! Does anyone have
experience with using a Mopar crate engine and high-performance headers?
Also, I was thinking if having dual exhaust, rather than single! Any advice will
be greatly appreciated!!!

Many TIA!!!

Abe Mantell
