Re: IML: 392 fuel pump

Per my previous message, the Dodge mechanical fuel pump is identical to the 392 Hemi pump except the activating arm is longer by maybe half an inch.  So the good folks at

crafted an aluminum spacer which fits between the pump and the block that allows you to use a regular Dodge pump on the 392.  It comes complete with gaskets and the correct length bolts.  (They will even sell you a pump but actually they just gave me the part number and had me go to NAPA to save money.)  The spacer was developed for the Chrysler 300 crowd.  It is all but undetectable, as its location is so low down on the passenger side it's hard to see at the best of times from above.  I have no hesitation recommending this product.

You can actually use an off the shelf Dodge fuel pump if you install a clever little aluminum spacer.  I've been using mine for years.  No one can tell and it works great.  I'll look for the info where to buy the spacer.  The fuel pump cost $9.99 about five years ago.

Does anyone know where I can get a new fuel pump for my 58 392 hemi.  I ordered from rock auto but they sent me an Email and said they no longer carry this part.
