Re: IML: Electric Window Repair

Russ,

If you decide to do such a thing, please put me down for 4.  Mine all work today but I certainly would not mind having a spare in the loft of the shop.

Regards,

Ron

hi,

If this is a fairly common problem and fits several years , we could possibly make an injection mold I manufacture it .. I have access milling an injection molding equipment,. I would need to hear from more club members about possible quantities though.  Let me know if there is some interest.

Thanks

I'm usually pretty good about finding resources for parts and repair

The driver side electric window on my 67 Crown quick working recently.
I was able to move the window up and down manually so I suspected the
plastic gear in the motor housing was broken.  After taking it apart
last night I discovered my suspicions were correct.

I remembered seeing posts from other members regarding this topic in
the past and the mention that repair kits were available at one of the
major-chain parts houses like Kragen or Napa.  Well I unsuccessfully
searched Kragen, RockAuto, PartsAmerica and Napa.  I got nothing.
Then I searched the club web site looking for information regarding
electric window repair and again I turned up nothing.  I'm sure the
information is there, it's just a user-interface issue.  (me the user,
not interfacing well with the computer)

Does someone with a memory better than mine know where I can find that
little plastic gear?

Thanks

Ken
