IML: 82 Imperial driving impressions

For the first time in probably a year, I took my '82 on a road trip to an
Athens body shop where we discussed a thorough repainting. The car impressed
me with its quiet, solid feel and absolute comfort. I have a very nice 5th
Ave of the same vintage but it does not compare to the Imperial.

Despite all the bad things said about them, and the dismal failure in the
marketplace, these are special cars and I have a renewed appreciation for
mine. Dave, the body man who usually repaints only Mercedes, really couldn't
understand why I wanted to spend so much money on the car but he did concede
it had "nice lines".
